we stepped out in our finest today.
our own homemade aprons and some bright lipstick.

yes, we were the talk of the town.
you should have seen the finger-pointing.
the gasps.
total movie star status walking down Pollasky.

okay, so not really.
but i'd like to think we had some people talking.

we had fancy pants high tea today at the Victorian Rose Tea Cottage in Clovis.
and yes, we did reapply our lips.

June: Ceramic Windchime Class

June's meeting was a botanical imprint ceramic windchime class taught by Al & Bobbi Tagress of Tagress pottery. They are our local potters. It was a beautiful day to be outside, learn a little about pottery and enjoy the beautiful Intermountain Nursery.

...brought farmgirl flowers.

Shauna hosted our foodtastic meeting and made us all our very own farmgirl canvas bags that folds up all fancy-pants.

Everyone brought yummy dippers to attend Shauna's fondue creations.

There may or may not have been a small fire.
It's possible that there was some screaming involved.
Let's just say "if" there really was, the key is to never move flaming gel across a beautifully decorated table and carpet.
Just saying if.

Anywho.

We also got our assignments for our Share-Op and some seeds to start in our gardens.
Always a good time with these gals.

It also just might have been a certain someone's birthday that day.
And that so called "fire"....it was just a happy birthday candle, really.

March Madness

Our March Meeting was a two-for-one special.

On Friday we donated some of our time to our local Mountain Wear

to help sort and purge clothing.

We later rendezvoused to Lloyd Mountain to have an

old-fashioned slumber party...mommy style.

Amy surprised us with 20 minute chair massages from "Heavenly Hands."

We enjoyed dinner, chit-chatting without kiddos, and lovely libations.

We closed out the "morning" by getting a few hours of sleep before starting breakfast

that was cooked by all. Yum and FUN!

Later, the farmgirls hosted a clothing swap.

Everyone brought bags of unwanted, still in great condition clothing and

laid them out on the ground for the taking.

Leftovers went to our favorite local organization, Mountain Wear!

Sew Crazy!

We sewed.

We snacked.

We solved.

We swapped.

We put together our take-along sewing kits, packed up our sewing machines and headed to the Ridgetop Farm for our meet-up.

We each brought a dish from our week's worth of budget friendly recipes and swapped them out so we ended up with 8 weeks worth of worry-free cooking!

We worked from a pattern to create our half aprons. While some of us stuck religiously to the pattern, others of us (ahem) decided to buck the system and "free sew."

We had a lot of fun with Amy's mom, her kids, and our newest "honorary member" her hubby Matt. We decided there should be a farm boy. :)

Julie hosted such a beautiful event.

We swapped stories, soup, soul issues, and sorted to create our very own "magazine."

Our unifying theme was the desire for more

"order" and "organization" in our lives,

minus the "overwhelm."

sorting and purging at our local Mountain Wear was a huge success!

we guesstimate that we sorted upwards of 75 bags of clothing.

that's a lot of donations!

that's a lot of clothes!

that's a lot that is dispersed into our local community!

what an amazing project...

Today, the mountain farmgirls met for an afternoon of fellowship over

we poured candles.

we conversed.

we crafted.

Our next meeting is Saturday, January 16 at Julie's {2pm}.

Bring a binder, your inspired magazine pages, (recycle the rest AWAY!)

and a frozen soup to share (don't forget your ice chest for safe storage!)

Amy is getting special storage containers for us, so make sure you plan space in your freezer!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 20 at Andria's {2pm}.

We are "sew" crazy!

You need a sewing machine, a crafting table, and a recipe from MaryJane's for our potluck.

We are planning on the following sewing projects to earn some of our badges! {squeeeee}

1. Reusable Gift Bags

2. Half Aprons

3. Farmgirl Badge (sign up if you haven't received your badge yet!)

4. Reusable Sandwich Bags.

We'll discuss at our next meeting how much fabric you need to bring.

Also, start putting together your portable sewing kit

(it's the beginner level badge for "sew wonderful")

Friday, November 27th the newest chapter of MaryJane's Farm {farmgirl sisterhood) met, ate, laughed, planned, and encouraged its founding pioneer members.

Led by Amy, our conversation strolled through community service, the stretching of "self," acquiring new talents, and uncovering hidden ones.

Our henhouse of ladies felt uplifted, excited, and left feeling anticipatory.

So many good things.

Our next meeting is Sunday, December 20th @ 1pm at Joni's.

Bring 2 dozen cookies (respond in the comments to let us know which cookie you are bringing to the swap!) Your materials for wrapping and tagging your gifts, and 3 8oz-16oz containers for filling candles. Don't forget your mug for the cake cups! Seriously, are you busting at the seams with excitement?
